WANCHE Liasion's Role
- Understand the vision, mission, and goals for WANCHE
- Access the WANCHE Web site regularly to keep yourself well informed
- Keep women administrators at your college/university informed of WANCHE activities
- Inform state coordinator of additions, promotions, or departures among women administrators at your institution
- Inform state coordinator of activities of special interest to women at your institution
- Inform liaison coordinator of any changes to your address and of personnel at your institution
- Identify talented women and encourage their professional development
- Keep college/university president/chancellor aware of activities of WANCHE
- Urge women to apply for various administrative positions
Suggested Strategies for Liaisons
- Notify women administrators (including your supervisor and president) at your institution of your role as liaison
- Provide updates of WANCHE activities to women via memo, newsletter, e-mail, etc.
- Encourage women to bookmark the Web site on their computers - www.ncwanche.org
- Host meeting at College to encourage participation of women--invite speakers from your College
- Sponsor a brown-bag lunch/breakfast after spring/fall meetings to discuss updates from meetings
- Inform women of upcoming relevant regional and state meetings and invite them to attend together
- Invite women from area colleges to meetings at your institution
- Distribute press releases to media; follow up with a phone call
- Be part of a Speakers Bureau if one is available
- Send letter congratulating women newly appointed to administrative positions
- Mentor aspiring women
